Snap-8
Snap-8 is a synthetic octapeptide (CAS 868844-74-0) designed as a competitive inhibitor of the SNARE complex by mimicking the N-terminal sequence of SNAP-25. In neuronal cell cultures it competes with SNAP-25 for SNARE assembly, attenuating the docking and fusion of acetylcholine-containing vesicles at the neuromuscular junction model. It is used as a research tool to probe vesicle exocytosis mechanisms and SNARE protein pharmacology at the molecular level. Supplied lyophilized for in vitro research use only.
